Again, a long time between posts. It’s been pretty crazy but no excuse. Short and sweet for now. I’ll just list a few resolutions for 2010. Quite frankly 2009 sucked. I actually wanted to punch it in the face at one point. Still would if I met it on the street one day. Anyways, let’s get to those resolutions…

Carve out more DEDICATED time to write
Wrap my current writing project by January 31
Exercise and get into better shape
Spend less time wasting time
Spend more quality time with my family
Win my fantasy baseball league — Well, how about ‘Place in the top 3′
Carve out some true ‘me’ down time for rest & recharge

OK, so there they are. Not all of them. I wonder how many I’ll stick to. Let’s look back in three months and see. That said, Happy New Year!

I gotta say, it was a really long day. My son was nutty. Work was nuttier. Little to no sleep the last few days. Yeah. Exactly. But the day ended really well. In my inbox was page 1, fully colored and lettered. DONE. Yep. I know. Great day.

So yeah, I’ve been neglecting the site a bit too much.

It’s been a busy summer. I feel like yesterday was Memorial Day when in fact, Labor Day was two weeks back. It’s crazy. So much has gotten done and happened since my last post in early August.

I’ve completed a treatment for a graphic novel and snagged a great artist, Jeff Stokely, to illustrate it. Scripting currently and getting ready to shop it. I have a certain publisher in mind that would be a dream to work with. We shall see.

My freelance work is coming along. The sports store website is getting very close. Details, details now.

My son started Nursery School last week, too. Even tho has had shed his fair share of tears thus far, I am not sure who it is harder on.

Long Beach Comic Con is only two weeks plus away. Once it wraps I’ll be back to posting much more frequently. Including teaser pages and art form the graphic novel. It’s going to be a race to the finish for 2009 and quite frankly, I can’t wait til it’s over. It’s really been one hell of a year…

Wow, can any more famous people die the last few weeks? Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michae Jackson and even more I really can’t recall right now. Jeez.

I’ll be selfish hear and hope that all these famous deaths will keep the people I know and love amoung the living.

Phineas and Ferb

My son’s new favorite tv show is Disney Channel’s Phineas and Ferb. It’s pretty funny and he loves it. The whole secret agent platypus pet is a riot. very episode has a musical sequence that are rediculously perfectly crafted most of the time. I love how the episodes wrap up and my son things it is the greatest thing since a milk bottle. If you haven’t seen the show yet, check it out.

My Son’s First Comic Book…

Mikey and I went to Grasshopper’s Comics today in East Williston Long Island. He had seen the image of Batman & Robin #1 on my laptop while I was working this morning and asked if we could go get it. Who was I to refuse…

He picked a couple more age appropriate books as well. But the ride home, he “read” Batman & Robin #1 to me from his back seat car seat. I snapped a pick of him at a light.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day is one my favorite holidays. Every year we go to the local parade near my parents and watch. Admitedly, it has gotten smaller and a bit disorganized, but it is a very fun tradition. It’s short, about half an hour or so now. Which is good because any longer might be a pain in the ass for me these days. When I was young, and in little league, I marched every year. In my uniform. I didn’t really like it that much back then. I saw it more as work then as a responsibility. But I was 8.

Flash foward to today. This was my son’s third parade, having been born in January of 2007, he really only got into this year, at 2 1/2. He was waving his flag and poppy flower (for those of you who don’t know what that is, it is a little handmade flower that veterans make and then give as gifts for donations). It makes me happy and proud. Both of my grandfathers were WWII vets. My dad’s dad in the Pacific and my Mom’s dad in Europe. I was too young or uninterested to be able to hear any of their stories and I am regretful & saddened by that. It is such an important time in our share global history and every day we lose another link to that true past.

So while you are all digesting your BBQ and thinking about how sweet this summer is going to be, do yourself a favor and just take a few minutes and think about all the men and women who put themselves in harms way and ultimately may have given their lives so that we can enjoy our freedoms.

My Son Made Me Proud…

So despite not having a great last week or so, health wise, I took my wife and son to the ball game today. Not only was it Donna’s mother’s day gift (she got a hat, too) it was Mike’s first baseball game. He had such a good time and was such a good boy. He cheered on his own. Did the wave. Ate a hotdog & a pretzel. The Mets won, too. We’ll have to frame one of the ticket stubs from the day.
